Let’s talk about period’s 🩸 project named “Proud to Bleed and Pad a girl” its 2022 and gender equality is a relatively hot topic, but that sentence is still something that makes people feel uncomfortable. We are firm believers that we need to help break the silence, raise awareness, and change negative social norms surrounding menstrual hygiene around the world, so that women and girls feel empowered to manage their periods safely, hygienically, with confidence, and without embarrassment. The subject of menstruation is still something that is considered taboo and although many organizations are doing what they can to end the shame and eradicate period poverty, there is still a long way to go. We are firm believers that we need to help break the silence, raise awareness, and change negative social norms surrounding menstrual hygiene around the world, so that women and girls feel empowered to manage their periods safely, hygienically, with confidence, and without embarrassment. We should live in a world where no woman or girl is limited by something as natural and normal as menstruating.

What if you had to miss school or work because you did not have proper menstrual supplies? How many days per year would you lose in education and wages simply because you got your period? What if no one ever taught you about menstruation, or worse: if menstrual taboos and myths made you feel ashamed of your body? This is the situation for more than 500 million women, girls and menstruations worldwide. It’s called Period Poverty.
Women and girls face because they lack access to adequate menstrual health management supplies and education, and it can have serious consequences.
Women and girls know how to safely use and care for healthy periods and feel more confident managing their menstruation.
Women and girls, as well as men and boys, are empowered with knowledge about how their bodies work.
Communities adopt positive attitudes about menstruation, ending shame and stigma around menstruation and puberty.
Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to menstruation. Access to timely, accurate health information is critical to shattering the stigma around menstruation and building a more equitable world.
